Hot Cheetos Puffs

Hot Cheetos are a spicy snack that are very enjoyable for many people. I chose to  do my project on this product because it's enjoyable and I was curious to know about the chemicals.


The three ingredients:

  • Thiamin-

    •   Chemical Name- Thiamine
    • Chemical Formula- C12H17CIN4OS
    • Physical Properties- Melting point 200 C, Water soulable vitamin, non-flammable 
    • Chemical Properties- it acts as a coenzyme in the decarboxylation 
    •  Health Effects- rare allergic reactions, and skin irritation
    • Purpose of having ingredient- Vitamin B

  •  Ferrous Sulfate-

    • Chemical name- Thiamine
    • Chemical formula- FeO4S
    • Physical properties- Melting point 64 C, Sensitivity- air sensitive
    • Chemical properties- light blue, or light blue-green solid
    • Health effects- Constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps, or upset stomach
    • Purpose of including ingredient- Iron

  •  Niacin-

    • Chemical name- niacin
    • Chemical formula- C6H5NO2
    • Physical and Chemical property- it's amide are thermally stable even when heated and not lose vitamin properties
    • Health effects- Non shown
    • Purpose of including ingredient- Vitamin B3
